Sister Tracey AllenNurse PractitionerTracey qualified as a nurse in Manchester in 1984. She was a Sister in Charge of a surgical ward until leaving to have children. Tracey worked as a Practice Nurse within a doctor’s surgery before qualifying as a Nurse Practitioner in 2001. Tracey can diagnose and treat common health problems such as infectious diseases and minor illness, and provide advice and treatment for children and adults during periods of poor health and issue prescriptions where necessary.
Sister Ruth HughesRuth qualified as a nurse in 1984 in Southport. Ruth then moved to a large teaching hospital in Manchester to work as a Staff Nurse in a large Intensive Care Unit for two years. This was followed by a five year post of Senior sister in charge of a Neurology Unit/ Acute admission medical unit. In 1994 she moved to the South West with her family, working briefly as a Practice Nurse and completing a BSc in Health, followed by an MSc Nurse Practitioner in 1999. In the role of Nurse Practitioner Ishe assesss, diagnoses, treats and prescribes for a variety of health problems with both acute and chronic presentations in children and adults.
Sister Sarah WilliamsNurse PractitionerI qualified in 1986 at the Whittington Hospital London as an RGN. Further training as a RHV(Health Visitor) 1992 in Plymouth BSc hons degree Nurse Practitioner at Bournemouth university in 2003 worked in general practice since then and for Devon doctors. Interested in minor illness, Asthma/COPD, sexual health and contraception. Hobbies: sailing and boat maintenance, gardening, reading, walking and keep fit.
Sister Tracey Allen and Sister Sarah Williams are experienced health professionals, working alongside the doctors in providing complete healthcare. They can diagnose and treat common health problems such as infectious diseases and minor illness, and provide advice and treatment for children and adults during periods of poor health.
Our Practice nurses are involved in a wide range of clinical activities, including the management of patients with asthma, diabetes, hypertension, well woman, family planning and health checks to prevent heart disease. Our nursing team also assist in enabling the practice to provide minor surgery services and full travel vaccination advice.
The District nurses aim to promote health by providing skilled nursing to patients within the community. The Practice works closely with the team, liaising daily for patients needs.
