Dr Nikki Kanani, GP and deputy lead for the NHS Vaccination Programme, said: “It is fantastic to see so much enthusiasm from the public for the latest phase of the NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Programme – it is already off to a flying start with more than 145,000 eligible people booking their spring booster between it opening yesterday morning and midday today.
“Patients have already started coming forward, with 95-year-old grandfather of two, Devraj Jhalam, becoming one of the first to get a spring vaccination on the very first day of the rollout.
“When you get the invite from the NHS, please do come forward for your next boost”.
