Surgery Intellect – AI powered medical scribe tool
We are starting to use an AI (Artificial Intelligence) powered medical scribe tool called Surgery Intellect (provided by X‑on Health, powered by Tortus AI) to help clinicians document consultations more efficiently. The system listens to the consultation, transcribes what is said, and produces draft clinical notes, which are always reviewed and approved by your clinician before being added to your medical record.
Surgery Intellect does not make clinical decisions or influence care; it is used solely for note‑taking. During your appointment, the tool may process audio of the consultation and the personal information you share. This processing is carried out under our public task to deliver healthcare services and in line with UK GDPR. You may choose to object to the use of Surgery Intellect at any time and your clinician will document the consultation manually. Data is handled securely, is not retained outside your medical record, and complies with NHS and UK regulatory standards.
