University Medical Centre

The University Medical Centre (UMC) has been providing primary care services to university students for many years. Plymouth University students have access to a dedicated, purpose-built GP surgery on campus. Students can see their doctor in a modern and well-designed building, right on campus, run by Peverell Park Surgery. Any student studying at Plymouth University and living in Plymouth postcodes PL1 – PL6 will be welcome to register with our surgery.

On occasions we need to close the site at the University Medical Centre, however all calls and consultations are still processed at our main site. Please click further down the page for online consultations or call 222341 for an appointment.

The University Medical Centre provides general medical services for students at Plymouth University, on campus.  Students will be seen at the University Medical Centre by doctors from Peverell Park Surgery.  Peverell Park Surgery’s doctors have been providing medical services to students for over 15 years and have developed skills specific to students needs.

General medical and contraceptive services are provided with absolute confidentiality. No medical or personal details are given to the University without your consent.

Students – What happens when I go home for the holidays?

When you register with the University Health Centre, you will be removed from your current doctor’s practice list and all your health records will be transferred to your new GP at the University.

We require your previous medical records before prescribing regular medication. Therefore please ensure you have a month’s supply of regular medication from your previous surgery before registering.

You will need to register as a Temporary Resident with your previous doctor if you wish to consult them sometimes, such as when you return home for the holidays. The surgery will ask you to complete a Temporary services form GMS3

You can contact us about a medical, administrative or prescription issue by clicking the button below (no registration necessary). Answer a few questions and we will get back to you within 3 working days.

Please do not use this online form for urgent or emergency requests.
